I actually wrote to JD Salinger about two week ago. I told him that its funny how if he sings his name on a piece of paper that it is worth thousands of dollars and how crazy the world is. He very much kept to himself but as a fan decided to write to him. I knew he wouldnt reply but what the heck why not try!

I can't believe he died! But just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading Catcher in the Rye last year; and also Nine Stories. Helped me enjoy reading again. {up}

Also, to you autograph experts out there-- has he always been known to ignore fanmail? I know he was a recluse, but has he ever replied to anyone? Just wondering.
