That would've been awesome if you were able to time it right and say you were yelling at somebody because they weren't listening to you the earthquake came in?

4.3 magnitude Earthquake in Chicago last night!!!

by khackdrums » Thu Feb 11, 2010 4:51 am

I was still awake when an earthquake struck the Chicago area and the rest of northern Illinois early Wednesday morning. It was strong enough to shake the entire foundation of my home and lasted approximately 30 seconds. I was very confused at the time, but it was confirmed on the news this morning that it was in fact an earthquake. The southern portion of Illinois lies above the New Madrid Fault Line (Seismic Zone), one of the most active fault lines in the world. The zone has had four of the largest North American earthquakes in recorded history. The earthquake's epicenter, near the Kane County town of Hampshire, was far from the New Madrid Fault Line or any other known fault line, and its origin remains a mystery. The quake was very small, but still very noticable. It sounded like a freight train derailing and was enough reason for my dogs to freak out...
