The problem with the silly number question thing is that it isn't an actual question, it's just a passcode, which is "3". It's much easier for a bot to crack a short constant like "3" than a longer variable like "XtH67e".

I know this sounds silly but a friend of mine has a forum site and added a spam section for people to post spam. It almost eliminated all spam in other parts of the site.

3 days ago there 91 topics posted by someone. Next day 60. Today I came here in the morning and spammer was just online and posting many more but I had to go to school so didn't have time to delete those 10 that were already posted, I only reported the user.
It takes at least 1 hour to delete all those spam topics as there are often about 100 posted and I believe this should be solved differently as banning members' IP's and deleting topics doesn't help and it is only a waste of time.

The spam I've seen (including a barrage right now..) are spambot-generated, I don't think I've seen a whole lot of human-generated ones. But yeah, either way setting up defenses doesn't hurt.

I'm not sure even if a captcha would help in this case as they appear to be posted by real people. Of course, it couldn't hurt!!

If you see a spam topic, report it to the mods by clicking on the red ! on the post, and if possible, actually PM one of us (TM, mod etc - TMs can deal with spam, but we can't see the report logs, unfortunately). Any TM reading, if you remove a post remember to report the user to Ozzman for immediate removal!
Dana and I got the rest. What is Admin doing to prevent this?

I agree. To any new member who may be reading this, if you see spam, you can click on the ! In the bottom right hand side to report it.
