I used to worry about it when I got mail delivered at home. Now I have a PO box and wouldn't do it any other way. For the minimal cost you never have to worry about weather or theft.

I live in western canada so if i hated rain when expecting mail in the winter i would be hating alot lol It doesnt bother me at all because my new mailbox not only has a great lid but its under a overhang from the house so rain doesnt even touch it... Plus because we get alot of rain the mailmen are used to it and have proper gear to keep the mail dry during delivery! My new mailbox also locks so i dont have to worry about anyone stealing it,that was more of a worry than rain for me but its safe now...

Oh man, I always seem to wake up just before the mail man comes. I get really annoyed when I don't get mail and my dad does. I live in Queensland, Australia and we have just been through a flood so almost everyday was raining for a week and our letter box leaks. I was not impressed.
I do like mail on a sunny day.

A simple trip to your local home improvement store should solve that problem. It only takes five minutes to take the old one down and put the new one up. Then you can enjoy your day paranoid-fee. Unless someone is out to get you, of course...

My family has a po box

I have a mail box too and it's pretty old. Usually i'm at school when mail comes and throughout the day im sitting there wondering if my mail has got wet in the rain.

We have a door slot, so our mail stay's nice and cozy.

Or have a slight paranoia if you're out/at work and won't be able to check your mail and you sit there, watching a HUGE downpour out the window, wondering if there could be a slight possibility your mail could get wet!? Or even just the tiniest leak in the letterbox soaking through.

Our letter box is pretty old and rather exposed, so on a rainy day you can imagine our mail gets pretty waterlogged, especially if it has been jammed in the top compartment (which it usually is; I send out 6x8's in a large envelope), so I'm always watching out to see if the postman has come by.
I hate the thought of him dropping off one of my returned SASE's and it's sitting there in the rain >.<
