I don't remember this show being particularly racist.. it probably benefited from some of the double standards that a lot of black shows use, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was a good show though, and would probably still be airing if it was on a network that actually cared about it.

There definitely were some complaints about the absence of black people on Friends. If I remember correctly, Aisha Tyler (Charlie) was hired basically as a direct response to those complaints. I always felt like she was a miscast for that character.
