Hey guys
Looks like Australia isn't the only place to be plagued by post increases

The Royal Mail in the UK is upping prices on 3rd April 2006:
Domestic 1st Class will rise from 30p to 32p, and 2nd Class will increase from 21p to 23p.

These prices are valid until 21st August 2006.
After that date the whole system will be replaced by "Pricing In Proportion", meaning letter will be charged by size as well as weight in 3 basic categories:
Letter, (240mm x 165mm x 5mm thick) - up to 100g First Class 30p - Second Class 21p
Large Letter (353mm x 250mm x 25mm thick) - up to 100g First Class 42p - Second Class 35p
Packet (353mm x 250mm x larger than 25mm thick) - up to 100g First Class 94p - Second Class 80p
It looks like this system might be much easier to understand and by the look of it could be a bit cheaper for SOME items.
Unfortunately if you send out A4 SASE's in the UK (like me!) the cost for those will increase from 21p to 35p

So on the whole - bad news
