RIP Robert B. Sherman (1925-2012)

by MW1221 » Tue Mar 06, 2012 6:26 am

Robert B. Sherman (of the famous "Sherman Brothers") passed away in London this past evening.

Along with his brother, he co-wrote some of the most famous Disney/movie songs ever, including "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" (and most songs from Mary Poppins), the title track from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the Disney theme park classic "It's a Small World", among many many others.

He has won Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, as well a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
