You can only "play" the first book. The next book comes out later in the year, I think. So, if you click on Chapter 1 of Sorcerer's Stone,
there should be something that says "Explore Chapter 1". If you click on that, I think it should work.

yeah i was on the first chapter, it wasn't working. i tried clicking on the lampost it turned purple but nothing happens beyond that.
At the bottom of each page are arrow keys to the left and right. There's not much to do on the first chapter. So, after exploring a little, just click on the right arrow key to proceed. Soon you'll get to the 2nd chapter.
