MY TRIBUTE TO JON LORD
9 June 1941 – 16 July 2012
http://www.Jonlord.org
This is indeed a sad day, makes me aware of how old I am getting.
Jon and
Richie Blackmore, as you hopefully know, were the driving force behind
Deep Purple.
I waited with intensive enthusiasm every time a new
Purple album was released.
Jon, Ritchie and
Deep Purple were part of the foundation of Rock.
I will always remember
Smoke on The water, Burn, Highway Star, Space Truckin', Stormbringer, Might Just take Your Life, and also the work
Jon did with
Whitesnake.Way to many songs he co-wrote or outright wrote to mention here.
Personally speaking, my favorite
Deep Purple albums were the
Live ones, because
Jon and
Ritchie played off of each other, something they tried to do in the studio with dismal results. However, when they were live, they were
A-LIVE!!
Another one of my Rock Heroes gone.
Jon, I love you. And I shall miss you, and always remember you fondly. As it said on
Jon's website,
"Jon passes from Darkness to Light."
In
Jon's honor, I'm off to YOUTUBE to play some
Deep Purple Videos.

Jon, Rest In Peace Buddy.
