RIP Larry Hagman

by stigduke » Sat Nov 24, 2012 8:47 am

The death has been announced of the veteran actor Larry Hagman, best known to millions of television viewers around the world for his role as super-villain oil baron J.R. Ewing in Dallas.
He died following complications of throat cancer. He was 81.
Although he achieved success with his supporting role in the TV sitcom 'I Dream Of Jeannie' and a role in the 1976 movie The Eagle Has Landed, it was the role of J.R. in Dallas that made him an international superstar.
For 13 years, viewers around the world were attracted to a saga of dodgy dealings and betrayal amongst one family, with JR being the one responsible for the bad stuff that occured around Southfork.
He will be sadly missed.
