Hey Kelly {up}

We also have SATs in the UK, the GCSE is just what they call the exams at the end. SATs and GCSEs are mainly continual assessment now, so that the exam at the end is not so crucial - the coursework makes up a large part of the qualification.

In the "oldern days" (!) when I was at school - everything rested on the exams in the end. It didn't matter how good you were at a subject through the years if you had a bad day on the day of the exam, then you failed the subject. I sound like such an old man!!!!!

I can see that this newer way is much fairer :wink:

Anyway, have a great Summer break!

Hi froggys_friend91 {up}

GCSE's are the exams you take in the UK before you leave Secondary / High School. It stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education.

You can then either go on to take A'levels (higher education) or go to college. To get to Uni you usually have to have pretty good GCSE and A'level grades.

Hope this helps!

I've been out of school for a while now and i've been pretty board.
Kelly, I see you're leaving for California soon-- I hope you have a lot of fun and that you dont get sunburned.

oh and I have been meaning to ask. What is GCSE test? I have never heard of it. Is it like collage tests you have to take or something.
