Hello all,
My name is Stuart, and I am a newbie here.
Although I am not a collector of autographs, I help out at my local cub scout troop, who are trying to raise funds to renovate their club house, as well as purchasing new equipment. It was whilst looking for ideas of how to raise funds, I came across the idea of auctioning celebrity signed memorabilia, which is how I came across this site.
So far, I have only sent out 31 requests to film and TV stars that have confirmed addresses in the UK, but I will be sending out to the US very shortly.
My thanks go out to The Collector, for his posts on charity auctions, which were invaluable to myself in preparing what to write in my letters. I will update in the relevant places when and if I get some replies (fingers crossed).
We are looking at having the fundraising auction towards the end of the year, so it does not leave me a great amount of time to get the replies back in, which means I am going to be very busy.
I will let you all know when we will be having the auction, and if anyone is in the north of England (Yorkshire region) you are more than welcome to come along.
If anyone has any extra advice, or names of sports and music stars that are good to write to, I would appreciate it.
