I loved them when I was at school and the song that was the theme tune to "The Royle Family" is one of my favourite songs of all time!

yeah, they are past their best - but i think they're still a heck of a lot better than most bands around at the mo. i guess its kinda hard to make the same music you were when you were in your twenties once 40 has come and gone. their not as vital as they used to be, but there are some cracking good songs around from more recently. i kinda like the new direction they seem to be heading towards though. i think some people just want them to keep putting out songs like wonderwall, but thats not even one of their best in my opinion.

the thing that is slightly annoying though is how much noel seems to want to sing every single song these days :P dont get me wrong, hes got a great voice - his acoustic gig at the albert hall is probably the best thing ive ever seen - but hes no liam. need to get a few more like eyeball tickler out there :D now that song was a beast

still cannot be beaten live though. doesnt look like theres anyone around to challenge em for that one either.

I love their old music but like ringodrum and shambler I honestly dont feel that strong about their latest stuff :(
wich is sad because most of their songs, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Definitely Maybe mean alot to me
and it's really sweet how you can talk to both kids and people in their 90's and hear that they all love Wonderwall.
It's such a sweet song and with open lyrics that pretty much everyone can relate to

And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall
{??}

I like them, but I agee with Shambler. The latest stuff they have been putting out isn't the best. I think the problem is though is that they still think they are the best band around.

I loved, and still love many of the songs from Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory, Be Here Now and The Masterplan - but that's it really, those were their 'wonder years'. I dunno what happened to Noel after that, the man can definitely put a tune and lyrics together but maybe now that he's older he's just not into it that much as he was before. When they started out they had something to prove, they were hungry to be the best band in the world. Now, they just put anything that sounds 'alright' out.

Not even going to listen to the new demo's. The last song of theirs I really enjoyed was Stop Crying Your Heart Out and nothing since

The demos for three new Oasis songs have been going round for a couple of days, wondered if there was anyone else out there thats heard them yet, if so what do you think?

If not...I can have a conversation with myself :P

To me theres a massive great big La's influence going on there. Not sure about them though. They're decent enough...but not sure if they're going to do much to make many people think Oasis are still on good form. Good to finally hear a version of Stop The Clocks though.
