Personally I do like seeing pictures of peoples successes, then it gives you an idea of what to expect e.g. what kind of photo you might recieve from the celebrity

Plus it makes the post a bit more colourful

Then for the autograph experts, they can give their opinion on the authenticity of it.
However it has to be understandable that some people don't have ways and means of posting pictures (no camera, no scanner etc.), but may still want to let people know that they got something back and that an address works, which is fine by me.
To be honest, I don't understand why somebody would just "make up" a success if it isn't true, there wouldn't be much point. Of course somebody could, but I find it highly unlikely. I think you just have to take a chance and be a bit trusting
