You could hide addresses from non-members, but this will solve nothing. They could make an account in less then a few minutes and have access to everything. The majority of of "members" on Fanmail have never made a single post! There must be some way to deter people from making an account just to access addresses. It's time to brainstorm people!

Bump. I still feel very strongly about this, as I think it would help us all out by hearing more feedback and getting requests filled.

Honestly, I like the way things are. If people reading the forums find the topics interesting and want to join, they will. I think making them join might just chase them away.

Next are u gonna want us to pay for our membership?

:? I belong to a site where you DO pay, and they take it a helluva lot more seriously then the people do at this site. I bet half the people who come on here daily have a address request and are ust waiting for someone to ask it. Why not help someone out? Registering takes two seconds, if people are really THAT lazy, then they shouldn't even be in this hobby.

Shambler wrote:I think that's a great idea! Sub-forums like Request a Celebrity Address and Feedback should be hidden from the public, and they should have to register like the rest of us to gain access to it. I think this would encourage more people to actually be a part of our site instead of just observing from the sidelines {up}
Very nice suggestion! {thumb2}

A few ups and downs here.

More Spam and Inactivity. Some people will not even post. :(

Good side is some will be active!

But overall, I say yes. What harm will it do?

i would like comments about my idea because i know it is not perfect but i want more members now.
That will encourage spam and nothing else.
True i have seen this on other sites {thumb2}

I actually sorta changed m mind after reading everone elses opinions. I now agree that it will be better if we get more members but give access to different things by the amount of things they post. Hopefully they would not spam for it but mabe saying:
Joining=looking at fanmail.biz addresses and access to Movie Set Addresses and Filming Locations forum and the Autograph Collectors forum
25 posts on fanmail.biz=posting your own successes and looking at other feedback
50 posts= full access to fanmail.biz

i would like comments about my idea because i know it is not perfect but i want more members now.
