If you send out frequent requests... it's possible

Hey. :)

Three months is reasonable so you can get to know someone, and make SURE that they are quality members.

1000 autographs is VERY possible and anyone can do it!!!! I have only been collecting for a couple months. If I had more money I would have more for stamps... but I have shopping addictions you could say :D

Well, Andy and Emma get back about 10 a day, so an average of 50/60 a week, so 1000 in 3 or 4 years isn't entirely unreasonable - I've been only sending rarely over the past year and I have about 100 so :?
Anyway, you need 100 posts to prove you're trustworthy. End of.

Even if you get back an average of 6 a day, if you only send out five a week, thats impossible.

I apologize for calling them liars. I guess its becuase I couldnt name 1000 famous people to send to let alone actually send to them.

That's still about 250 a year, basically sending 5 a week.
Andy often gets up to 10 back a day, and he isn't lying.

The main reason is because your (and I mean "your" in general, not you specifically) time as member here is all you have to go on as far as building trust goes.

If someone comes on here and in their first post says "Ive been collecting for 5 years, blah blah blah, I'm selling ABCDE", do you take their word for it? Or would you rather buy off someone whos been an active member of the site for a fair period of time?
That is a good point but most scammers wont come here. I just heard of this place 6 months ago so why should a scammer come here when to the naked eye, it doesnt even look like a website to buy and sell things.

especially when they have ebay (and other websites strictly for buying and selling) for that

You want to talk about building trust when some members claim they have only been collecting for 3 or 4 years but they have recieved over 1000 autos? Should we ban them when they are obviously lying? I really dont think its fair
1000 in 3-4 years is entirely possible, I dont see hows a reason to say they're "obviously lying" :?

I have been collecting for a year. I have around 60 autographs. And I only send one or two requests per week. If a user send 5-10 a week they could easily collect that many in that amount of time. Even more so if the user happens to live, say, in London, where they can attend many events and get them IP.
