I think it's mainly new users who are a bit confused - today alone I had to move two topics to the correct forum! :lol: - so I think they just post without doing much "research"! :D Hmm, I don't know if there's much we can do about it... Mabey when a new user register, immedaitly after that process, there's a pop up or something like that which leads them to the sticked topics in the "Collecting Help" forum? :? I don't know...

Hey,
I was thinking each member should be pmed as sson as they siged up.
The pm will tell them about where to post wat... etc...
but the problem is, i doubt the members will care, or even read it!
jason.
:? I've often wondered about this.. I know it happens on other sites. When a new member joins up, perhaps they should be PMed straight away just with a few details regarding the site, where they can find help if they need it, how to properly post feedback etc. And the messages that Moderators (I'm assuming that it would be Moderators who would do the PMing) send could all have a similar format, like how they respond to feedback and add people to the $10 Allposter.com gift certificate etc. I know what you mean abou tht members not caring but I do think they'd read it if they saw '1 new message' at the top of the page after they sign in, I know I would have at least checked it out! ;-) And for the sake of a quick PM, it might save a lot of other questions which are clearly explained in Stickies in the relevant forums (if some people just took the time to look), down the track. I guess it's about half and half regarding the 'are they just lazy' or 'don't they know what they are/for?' But, I like the idea and I'd be willing to help! {thumb2}

Hi,
In the collecting forum, lots of new users ask questions which they could find out just by reading the stickies which were created to answer their questions. I don't know if the users are just too lazy to check the stickies, or do they just don't know what the stickies are for?
Jason ;-)
