Hi Hayley
I haven't had my wisdom teeth taken out (yet) and will probably have them removed some time in the future. I've already had 2 normal teeth taken out for my braces, which wasn't too bad. You just have to make sure to follow your dentist's advice after the teeth are taken out to make sure the spot heals properly.
I think it's the same with wisdom teeth. You should go see your dentist and get an x-ray to see how your wisdom teeth are placed in the mouth.
My two top teeth are straight, and have actually started to grow out. It doesn't hurt because they've had room to grow.
On the other hand, my bottom two teeth are impacted (sideways) and aren't facing the right direction. The two teeth have made my mouth hurt a bit at times, but it hasn't hurt for a while (I know how you feel).
I've had friends have their wisdoms removed, and have said it hasn't been a problem. They say it doesn't hurt much while they're being removed, only after when the anaesthetic wears off. But the pain is easily managed, and you should be right. I really hope so too ... considering I'll have to get them out sooner or later.
Good luck!!
