I am not aware that shoegal did ask for your opinion on her success :| Or am I wrong?

It is interesting to note though that that was her first post on the forum, and since then she has not made any others . . .

I just hope they have not been totally put off by their "warm" welcome. . . .

Ian,

when I'm writing about PP's, AP's, Sec's, etc this is to enknowledge new collectors who read the postings on here and don't know anything about PP's, AP's, Sec's, etc.

And of course we may not forget the collectors on here who actually do want to know if what they received TTM is actually authentic or is it secretarial, preprint, autopen, etc.

Best,
Stephan

Ain't it politeness too to answer to questions you were asked? Think about that for a minute.

Stephan

"some collectors on here actually do want to know if what they received TTM is actually authentic or is it secretarial, preprint, autopen, etc"

But shoegal didn't even ask you what u thing about her/him succes, she/he didn't ask you to tell is it authentic, secretarial, prepint or autopen...

whosurdaddy
"We will never know 100% what is authentic and what is not unless we are there to see it being signed" quite frankly if that was the case there would be no forgery convictions, there would be no operation bullpen, there would be no court certified handwriting experts etc"

That's right!! :D

(I'm sorry for my english...)

Thanks so much for mentioning Operation Bullpen. We definately must be long lost twin-brothers.

I doubt that TheMailman, Sleep Watcher, starbuck, etc. have ever heard of it nor know anything about it.

Just 3 words: Truly Unique Collectibles

I can see why so many people don't bother to post their successes on this site. There seems to be a competition to see how many hopes and dreams can be squashed in a single post.

I definately don't see where someones hopes and dreams are an issue. No one on here is stealing someones college fund or telling someone they can't be a doctor, lawyer, actor or even the president. Autograph collecting is a great and fun hobby and some collectors on here actually do want to know if what they received TTM is actually authentic or is it secretarial, preprint, autopen, etc. I see nothing wrong with stating facts and I would just like to make one more point regarding what I see posted alot on here about" We will never know 100% what is authentic and what is not unless we are there to see it being signed" quite frankly if that was the case there would be no forgery convictions, there would be no operation bullpen, there would be no court certified handwriting experts etc. I dont have to see a tree fall in the woods to know that it has fallen. If it quacks like duck and looks like a duck then it's a pretty sure bet it is a duck.

LOL@ "I hope your dog runs away" That was funny!

To me it seems like if the person DOES NOT ASK someone else's opinion about the authenticity of an autograph than all that should be said is congratulations.

Just think about how excited the person was when they pulled the letter out of their mailbox. They probably rushed right in the house to scan it so they can post it and say "look what I got today!" - then you people come along with your "holierthanthou" attitudes - "this signature looks nothing like the signature that I recieved last month when I met "so-and-so" - gimmie a break!

You have convinced me to never share my successes. I will keep them to myself - happily content with WHATEVER I received!
In this specific case I'd like to quote Andy...
