O.K I now take back the thing I said that kicked off this thread-

"I don't know for sure, but I believe this member has actually done this and received something back"

I didn't know he had a history of what I see as 'Attention Seeking Scams'. But I still believe that TheMailmans attitude towards him was unacceptable.

Paul :D

P.S
He also said that he wrote to a celebrity (I can't remember who — it may have been Emily Browning) and received an autographed photo back with an inscription saying she was currently reading his book . . .

Some people will do anything to get attention . . .

I remember him saying you could only get in in a few bookstores in canada which I found really odd

Took a look at his website. Even though the story line is too much Harry Potter it sounds interesting :D But wow... People make all kind of things up.

With that said, I want to write a book too one day :D Just have to find the right topic!

If you remember, Rob and I aren't exactly the best of friends.

This post, like many of his others, seems very suspicious to me. :|

I'll be keeping a close watch on this post.

starreyes, Here's the infamous website  : http://www.freewebs.com/cedricmantichoras

What exactly did happen with the book? I never heard, I just remember seeing the website.

I obviously can't say for sure if he is telling the truth or lying, but I would definitely watch this member. Does anyone else remember his website about his book series?
So true Joey

Remember a while back when he was selling "authentic" Emma Watson autographs because he claimed he was her cousin (and for an extra $5 or something it would be personalised?) No photographic evidence of it though ...

And that book ... I think we kind of scared him off the forums for a while, but he's come back now. He probably thinks we've forgotten about these incidents now that they were months back ...

Definitely a member to keep a look out for

I had wondered if this would start any arguments too. :? And I know he tends to post some pretty odd successes... I remember reading the website about his books Joey, and thinking that there was no way that could happen. I mean maybe I'm wrong but it just doesn't seem quite right. I think we should definately watch him.

I agree with you all about TheMailman :? He can be helpful, but he often seems to have a strange attitude towards other members / situations.

I have to agree with you there, I just locked the post where he's jumping on people for asking for email addresses
My opinion is the same but Im giving him a second chance
