I do not agree. Most of them are very helpful for the forums and will probably become full Moderarors

I guess. I meant members who had not long been registered for long and have already become Junior Moderator's {up}

But I agree with John with the whole period of time before becoming a Junior Moderator

I like the idea of having to be a member a few months before becoming a jr mod

Yep, that's a great idea, I've been thinking of that too as mi6forums has it that way aswell.

I think General Discussion and Games should have frozen post counts
I dont really see a point to turning it off, I allways look through a persons post when deciding to vote on them becoming a moderator to see what they say, post count is meaningless

Well, if you look at "who's online", there are almost always more green members than ordinary members online. :)

I don't say that she wouldn't do a good job (she would) but I think we should see to the need too

by TheMailman » Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:25 pm

I personally think we all do a great job but not all of us can be online at anyone time.

For example, dgangel is more than a good member. She reports spam, helps find people addresses and shows interest in the forum. I think if she is accepted, then perhaps slow down the JM process.

But 90% of them I can see getting rejected anyway :|

Let me try to explain what I think.

We shouldn't have more moderators than we have now.
I mean, we can't just add more mods all the time just because they are good members... To be a moderator is not an award or something for beeing a good member. Moderators are controlling the forum to keep it as clean, nice and well-functioning as possible. It's not a VIP status.

So, if there is no need for more moderators, why should we add more?

Do you see my point? :)

nowandagain wrote:There's one problem to that - we could set a limit of 250 posts, but if members just post in Games or "spam" the forums like some members do with posts like "Great success" in the Feedback forum, they could reach this post limit rather quickly. Furthermore, these members may not show any experience in autograph collecting. Moderators should be experienced and able to help members with autograph collecting.

Therefore, I think we should focus on quality, not quantity of posts.

You have a point there. How about a time limit then? Let's say they have to be a member for at least 3 months or so before they ask and then we can discuss them in this moderator area?
