Same here, except I didnt realise it was a home address until after it was pointed out

Exactly. I've used a home address once, that being a long time ago (over two years) when I'd only been collecting a number of weeks. I later realised it was a home address, and instantly deleted the postings I'd made on it.

Thats pretty scary, and I find it odd how we're allowing the posting of home addresses, when its directly - and adversely - affected one of the longest serving and respected members on the site!

If the celeb is ok with it, then fair enough. But unless we have 100% proof the celeb is ok with it, how can we allow it?!

And if you want another example, heres one which again, is a little scary.

Bob Orton Jr's wife requested the address be removed as people were turning up on their doorstep in the middle of the night! (The thread seems to have gone walkabout ATM).

How much more proof is needed?

If I made a post listing the home addresses of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Beyonce, Mike Myers, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves (etc), I can guarantee 98% if members would jump all over me telling me wrong it is. Do (in this example) hockey players not deserve the same privacy?

I agree that home addresses should be allowed, but ONLY once a positive response has been reported in the feedback forum, thus demonstrating the celeb is OK with it.

Afterall, we may well be reposting addresses from other autograph websites where the celeb has already reported they are not happy with it. I think this kind of posting stands to devalue the principles which set this board apart from the rest.

I am also a little bit confused as to how we can allow these posts.

Number one, I don't think anyone can prove the celeb has given their sanction for the mass-posting of their private home address unless the poster can provide an example of a success obtained from the address (this would then suggest they were OK with it).

A couple of years ago I had a not-nice run in with a certain member on here when they decided to use my address details to find our about my kids /schools / names etc which was almost the last straw with my involvement with Fanmail.biz. So I can imagine how damaging the posting of other people's addresses could be.

Of course Admin has the final say, but I feel I have to point out I have some very grave reservations with it.

Whoops, sorry about that. I think many sports personalities don't mind and many reply from their home addresses, but some bigger celebrities do mind and don't like receiving mail from their own mailbox, I think it would be safe just to remove them for safety reasons.
