Peyton was not banned, Peyton resigned.
Ohh! I didn't know. It's a real shame we're losing all these Mods.

It's a shame that we're losing all these GREAT mods that contributed SO much.

Dgangel in my honest opinion was a very nice person. I have even done trades with her and she is a very down to earth easy going person. She wasn't really rude, just stating the facts, which is what many mods should do to show members what is right and what is wrong. I personally would like to have her back on the board for the amount of work she put in.

This is of course, my opinion

Well I'm sorry if that’s the impression that you got, I didn't think I needed to put on an 'up-beat act' when speaking to other moderators...

I'd much rather this didn’t turn into an argument so if any offence has been caused sorry...
Hi Manu80! ;-)

Everything's cool! {thumb2} I became a Moderator today a week ago so obviously I didn't know about everything going on here. I'm trying to learn as quick as I can, luckily I can add people to the gift certificate now! :lol: But I still a little new so I didn't know about everything! ;-)

Anyways, untill we get a better oppertunity, it seems there is nothing much we can do about it now...

Enjoy your weekend,

You honestly don't think that has already been tried? I know I have sent him suggestions in the past, Andy, Lisa and Courtney probably have too, but do you think he take the time to read them? I certainly get the impression that he doesn't...

By posting in here other moderators can get behind complaints, if there is support for an idea that admin may listen to it (or it may be moved...)

Tell me... exactly how do you suggest we do something about it? What can we do about it? Its the admins forum. So yes I can complain because t seems there not much else we can do about it...
Manu80,

I've been a member on this board for long enough to know how things work around here. It's not necessary to be mean to me, I was just trying to give my ideas. :? They changed the TM system in the past so why won't they do it again? You haven't been exactly very nice to me since I became a Mod... :roll:

Like I said, I was just giving my opinion...

I don't.

I don't know how many topics there have been on this subject and I personally think that the addition of teams has made things worse, allowing only Moderators of one team to vote on particular TMs' doesn't seem like a good idea to me I think it should, for now anyway, go back to the old system of all Mods making the decision and of course not allowing TMs' to have their say on other TMs'.

Heres my suggestion: Just get rid of the whole thing.. How many times do I need to say that there should be enough Mods at the moment to cope.
What I meant was we should tell admin about our ideas. I mean, it's not going to help by just posting here and there, we should either pm him or like I said, all Mods should post their new ideas. Hi Andy! ;)

I can completely understand that some people will be unsatisfied with me and some others' promotions. {thumb2} But that's why I should do my work extra hard so others won't be unhappy, and hopefully become satisfied with me! :mrgreen: I promise to do my best as I understand that it's unfair towards others. {up}

Mabey we should all post our ideas on how to change the TM system. I think if we get some good ideas, admin will change the system! :) Mabey we can start a new topic here... ;)

Thanks,
Lizanne

I've been a TM for more than 2 months before asking my Team Leader to set up a poll for me to become a full Moderator as I felt that I'm ready. I got great support in the TM forum's poll, but it seems some members had a problem with me becoming a Mod... :? And there's been some complains about the TM system so there came nothing from my polls. :roll:

A week ago, admin wanted TM volunteers to help out in the "Feedback" forum (the forum which I vist the most). Of course, I volunteered and I got promoted... finally after being a Fanmail.biz member since November 2005. I did what I was aksed to do (adding people to the $10 gift certificate), unlike another member who became a Mod along with me (I won't name names, but you'll know who I'm talking about). :roll: admin seems very satisfied with me, and also my Team Leader. I'm a Moderator to help out and help sort this great forum out and make sure everything is going smoothly. {thumb2}
I wasnt referring to you specifically, as you weren't the only promoted via the short cut, but as you posted, I'll use you as "the example".

You had a poll, and for whatever reason(s) were not promoted from it. So the majority decision of Moderators was that you shouldnt be promoted.

Then admin introduces a short cut, and you get promoted anyway.

So the "problem" is, that the majority decision of the Moderators meant nothing int he end, as you were promoted in spite of various concerns.

Again, just using you as an example, but can you what I mean? The point of the polls is to say yes or no. If The poll says no, but you get promoted, then whats the point in voting? You see?
Anyways, this topic is not about me. :lol: I think the TM system needs to change before more useless TM's get promoted. {down} So I've been thinking:
Mabey to become a TM, the same method must be followed as to become a Mod? This is how it could work:
To become a TM, a registered member must contact any Global Moderator, Moderator or admin. Then, a poll gets set up for them only in the "Moderator" forum. All Mods and admin can vote in a period of 2 months (or it can be more?) to see how this member posts (is a rude, does he know anything about this forum, is he a regular vistor, etc.). {up} If he seems like he could make a good TM, then he gets promoted. :)

I don't know, this is only my solution! :mrgreen: Any other ideas? {thumb2}

Thanks,
Lizanne

Yes its definitely needs to be changed before more useless TMs got promoted, especially when scammers are asking to be promoted via the shortcut, it gets extremely worrying. Then again, its worrying enough that known scammers are TMs in the first place, let alone asking to be Moderators {down}
