Good ideas you guys!!! I agree with you all. {up}

I think definitely having some kind of feedback system or stronger rules could help. I think with that we need more moderators or something to help make sure it's run smoothly! Even with the possible changes for the Sale/Exchange forum, there will still be some members trying to get around things and sell fakes and if that be the case then, like nowandagain said I think we'd have to close it down for good!

That probably has something to do with the fact that some moderators are probably in it for the "status".

If worse comes to worse, we could always close down the Autographs for Sale / Exchange forum.

I completely agree. :)

I don't really know what else we could do to solve the problem... We can't ban them because they'd just register again under a different name.

Oddly though, the majority of people who rip people off are moderators. :roll:

Perhaps a feedback system, allowing useres to leave feedback for a sale or trade. If someone doesn't receive their end of the deal, a negative feedback could be left...to serve as a warning to other people I suppose.

I'm not sure what can be done with this software, and how much admin or the other mods want to get involved with disputes

[agree] Daniel.

I think there definitely should be stricter guidelines placed on Autographs for Sale / Exchange forum. There have been problems in the past regarding certain sellers, so I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of protection for buyers.

Having a central database of numbers/addresses is a good idea, but is there anything else that can be implemented?

Suggestion for Selling/Trading autographs

Hey all

I have a suggestion for members who participate in selling and trading their autographs...please let me know what you think

Do you think we should institute a feature on the forum that would require anyone wanting to sell/trade an autograph enter their contact address and phone # into a database so that in the event of a bad trade, members can contact admin or one of us and we can work to resolve the issue.

I'm assuming, of course, that it's even plausible to add this feature... I know of SportsCardForum they have it, but they may be on a different forum software than we are.

Let me know what you all think.
