I can confirm that the gold signature is legitimate. I met him at my city's comic con last year and bought the photo/autograph combo and the gold one matches my IP. Congrats!

IMO the signatures are very different....so your 'sec theory' COULD hold up. On a good note, the GOLD ones are the authentic ones.
