A stripped-down band would be fun, but I've never really liked the Other Band atmosphere. If Bruce is playing in a rock band, it has to be E Street or it just doesn't hold up, and Roy, Gary, etc. have been on the road or in a studio for three years now, dating back to the Magic sessions. I'd either like to see another acoustic solo album or a Seeger Sessions reunion, this time doing Bruce's stuff (either reworking old stuff or new songs). In any case, he just needs to keep working, 'cause I can't go such a long time without a Boss fix. Either way, I'm hoping it's a tour that will bring him around to the Keswick Theatre here in Philly, 'cause meeting artists there is incredibly easy.

Oh yeah, Philly and MSG will be practically impossible. And I agree, west coast cities are easier and for whatever reason he seems more relaxed. I have met him several times, but always west coast, Sacramento, Phoenix, Denver and Seattle.

Devils and Dust was my favorite tour, although anytime with the band is amazing. I am hoping for something stripped down, maybe Nils, Roy, Gary and a drummer, assuming Max won't be available with his committment to the Tonight Show.

Come check out some of my crazy friends at our Bruce site www.greasylake.org

Good Luck getting the auto!

It's not that easy, unfortunately. I cannot count the number of times that I have waited before shows (seen The Boss 6 times, tried to meet him at least 3 of them), and have yet to meet him. It is MUCH easier to meet him on the West Coast (I don't know where you are) than on the east. I've seen him thrice in Philly and once at MSG, two of the hardest venues to meet him. I hope to catch him on a solo tour once this E Street jaunt winds up (I am REALLY hoping for a Devils and Dust-style album and tour), and would love to meet him.

I have met Bruce several times and seen him interact with his fans and I agree with your assessment of the man. His management has proven incompetent on many levels, including obvious things like spelling errors on CD inserts, holding back tickets by the thousands for high demand shows and much more that I don't wish to go into. Bruce's loyalty to JLM and others is a bit of blind faith and isn't always rewarded.

But seriously, for those who really want an autograph in person, do the time before and after shows at the entrance gates and I bet you will get your item signed and personalized at some point.

In person, Bruce will sign most everything (there are exceptions) and doesn't mind interacting with pics and signing for his fans.

Any other way, I have seen very few successes. However, before or after his shows, he is often available for signing, will even stop the caravan of vehicles to talk with fans, I have personally seen him do that twice and have the pics and autographs to prove it. Through the mail, I doubt anyone will get a response, just my opinion.

While I am not an autograph expert, I consider myself an authority on Springsteen and I wouldn't waste an envelope sending for an autograph, his staff will return it and he won't have any idea it even came.
John Landau Management really suck at interacting with fans: flubbing the album announcements on the current tour, never returning items sent in except VV.....for such a regular guy, John is an ass of the highest degree. It's really too bad. His major client is supposedly one of the coolest rock stars on the planet in person.

Could have been Bruce's people, could have been a case of them finding it after he was gone realizing that they never gave it to them, could be anything. He's very, very hard to get. Good luck in the future, though!

His is definitely my favorite in my collection - my dad got me a framed, signed copy of my favorite album (Born to Run) at a fundraising auction a year or two ago.

Thanks for the tip. I guess I seen the Britney successes from MSG and thought they really passed on fanmail.
I also sent to a couple WWE wrestlers to the RAW event that was gonna be held today. That will probably turn out a faillure as well.
In this case though (with my stuff returning unsigned, which I never received in Pink's case) I'm led to believe that was maybe Bruce (or his ppl decided for him) that didn't want to sign an not so much a case of them not forwarding mail.
I was also upset that my stamps weren't cancelled and they sealed the envelope with tape thus rendering it useless to use again.
Oh well...at least I got my stuff back.
