So yeah...I would LOVE to have him shake my hand. And I think it's sad that people booed him. Maybe you'd get tired of people waiting outside events you were at all the time as well. At least you got an acknowledgement, give him a break.
It is VERY sad people booed him...I hate thinking about it! He's such a sweet, caring man!

I agree, he is awesome. Whenever I see him on talk shows he is so unaffected, you'd never know he was a sir, as he certainly doesn't mind when people don't use his title. I don't like thinking about it either.

Well hopefully when he is in New Zealand this summer, people will be more polite to him.
It was kinda funny, but the last time he visited The View in December, Whoopi Goldberg asked if he would be returning to Harry Potter as Dumbledore. Sir Ian replied, "Well, if I was Michael Gambon I would be." He was very polite and shrugged it off (or so it looked), but Whoopi was very apologetic and all. I guess she was caught in the moment and got confused, haha.

I agree with those above. Sir Ian is a living legend, and I would be soooooo stunned to see, let alone meet, him in person. He signed my Gandalf the White 5x7" photo TTM last fall, and it is one of my all-time favorite autographs. He wrote my surname and even added "love." How awesome!

Booing Ian is not good, hes a legend..i met him at an awards in london and he signed down the entire line, even chatted breifly with me, nice guy..just catch him at the right time :D {up} i guess its a hit an miss with him now in person...hes always great at signing play items at the stage door though which is still pretty cool! LONG LIVE SIR IAN!

Great success! I am going to be writing to him there very soon.

I think it's a bit mean to boo a Knight of the Realm, one who signs brilliantly TTM. I mean... maybe he doesn't like meeting people.... maybe he doesn't like the stupid questions he's been asked before....maybe he had something important to do. I personally would be so awestruck that I had even been within a mile of him, I wouldn't have minded had he not signed. He's not obliged to stand around in the cold and sign for people when he can do so at his leisure at home.

great success

Ian is very hard to get In person, me and some friends met him at a very low key event today but didnt sign, he never signs (apart from shwo things) at the stage door and he never or very rarely signs at events. This was very low key and just waved to us on the way in, after there were 7 of us, he walked to his car and he was booood! He came over to shake hands making the excuse that if he signed for one of us he would have to sign for all (only 7)! He then got in his car as he was booood once again.

No question, agreat actor but he rarely signs now, i suspect he thinks we are going to sell them! Sad but his choice. A rarer auto now on film photos so well done
