I have been absolutely gutted all day long at the loss of the great Alan Rickman. This was one of my earliest successes, one of my all time favorites. I remember being so excited to receive this in the mail, to think that for a second, he was thinking of me. That really kicked off this hobby for me. I just can't believe he's gone. I will treasure this and all of his performances on film. You will be missed, Mr. Rickman.

Alan is an incredible actor, known to give a unique touch to each of his characters.

Thanks, Ryan! It was because of your post and chris32's post that I found out he was in New York and was able to write to him in time.

Geoffrey Rush started a play at the BAM Harvey Theatre just after Alan Rickman left, I've written and am hoping to hear back from him, as well!

I'm so excited about this one! I wrote to Mr. Rickman while he was performing Ibsen's "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. I thought it would be a great opportunity since I have yet to send any requests to anyone internationally. I sent it on January 30th, and I knew he was only in the play for about another week, so I wasn't for sure that I'd even get it to him in time. As February was starting to wrap up, I had pretty much given up, but yesterday, this showed up! Probably my second favorite signature I've received after John Williams. :D
