I am not sure if she is still filming or not... I think she is

BUT! I didn't have any NZ stamps so all I sent was a SAE and 2 photos. She ended up using her own envelope and providing postage - she didn't use my photos and sent me another instead. Not sure if that was a mix up or not, but I don't think you need NZ stamps. I just said at the beginning of the letter I was sorry that I didn't have stamps or a IRC (The people at my post office are incredibly dumb and do not know how to use an IRC so I can never get them).

I know she was in New Zealand filming The Hobbit. Is that address still valid for her and if so.. for how long?

I'm from the US and don't have stamps for NZ, would it be suffice if I just sent an envelope and $2? Also, provide my own photo or will she?
