Great for those of you that got your stuff signed authentically, but I'm sure you can see where some of us are pretty peeved!
I agree , but I also strongly disagree with this

I nowadays only go for people who I like in something , but I bet if you ask every single auto collector in the world what their favourite autos are , a massive percentage will probably say it is the rarest , hardest to get , worked hardest for , collected over years , impossible to get now ones .
With me I would no doubt say probably my Doctor Who books signed by 7 of the first 8 Doctors , my Monty Python DVD covers that I have got signed IP by 4 of the 5 remaining Pythons , my Hellboy DVD signed by 6 , my Alien signed by 5 - all of these are quite individual items to me , items that some wouldn't be too interested in but some would love , and all stuff that a lot of other collectors wouldn't have

Huh? How does your response have anything to do with what I said?
Maybe I could have made myself clearer
What I meant was that this hobby only works because some people get things others can't , and because some people want things that some do but lots of others don't . We are all individual , we all like different actors or actresses . And some only want sportsmen , or politicians , or whoever . If we all got the same , or even all wanted the same , this hobby would soon get boring .
I was exactly the same as most where Robin Williams was concerned - I got somebody who obviously wasn't Robin Williams signing my 2 DVD covers - and sod the fact that one of them was already signed by Terry Gilliam and David Hyde Pierce

. But I send each item out knowing that it could come back really signed , or preprinted , or signed by a sec , or not even come back at all . And I have written to people who have replied to almost everybody but me ( it seemed at the time ) , and as a result over the years have lost , for example , a Shaun Of The Dead DVD cover signed by 3 , a Flash Gordon DVD cover signed by 4 , a Rocky Horror DVD cover signed by Tim Curry and Richard O'Brien , and a Roswell photo signed by 4 or 5 etc .
Yes , I find this hobby hateful sometimes , and it is never fair - but I will put up with the bad times as long as I keep getting the odd good time .
