I recently attended a presentation held at the all women's University College here in London, Ontario (my home town) in which Evanna Lynch spoke.
I lined up outside the event for about 8 and a half hours. I was the first in line. I am also a wandmaker, so I decided to bring a wand for her, in case there was a chance to meet her.
When I got there, I was told there would be no such opportunity, but that they'd pass it on for me. Either way, I was thrilled.
Five minutes later, the Dean of the University came out with the wand and told me that he could tell this was a personal gift, and that I put a lot of time and effort into the wand.
The principal then told me that she was going to make my day and that I should come with her.
I followed her to the basement of the building and was asked to wait on a couch while Evanna did media interviews. About 20 minutes later, Everyone was finished and the room cleared. I was then taken into the room where I had the opportunity to give the wand to Evanna personally. I spent about 15-20 minutes chatting with her about everything, Harry Potter, life in L.A., and about my wand company.
I got her to sign a card for me (now it is easily my number 1 favourite autograph) and had several photos taken. The video above has all of the pictures in it. Well, all of the ones of her and I.
Easily the best day of my life. I have never met a kinder, more kindred spirit than her.
