We've also heard stories about Stretch with Patrick Wilson, the action flick Continue, and the adaptation of Undying Love, but it's been hard to say exactly what direction he was heading. And today yet another movie has entered the picture.

Based on an original screenplay by the director, the film will star Costner as a widowed grandfather who has raised his bi-racial granddaughter ever since his daughter, the girl's mother, died during childbirth. His role as guardian is questioned, however, when the child's paternal grandmother sues for custody. As the trade notes, the case "becomes about race and where she should grow up." The film will be the first that Binder has directed since 2007's Reign Over Me, starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle. The new movie looks to start filming in New Orleans this summer, once Costner's schedule has cleared up.
