I was very surprised to receive a success from Amanda Palmer. Usually when musicians I love are on tour I try to send a letter to as many concert stops as I can since many are refused or disappear or whatever. Sometimes out of a whole tour I might only get one success (or total failure). I didn't expect a success from Amanda Palmer because there was only a single concert in NYC and without expecting much shot off a letter and two photos. To my surprise, I received a very quick reply a week later. She had signed the photos.
