Although with Sir Ian, if he hadn't seen that we wanted autographs, we would've missed it becuase he certainly doesn't look like a film star, but more of a homeless man who needs a wash!

Wow, I've missed a lot since logging out lol!

As for Jan's signature, her 'R' doesn't look like either Rooney example posted here, I don't know though... She seemed to just let Mickey 'get on with things', he doesn't sign after shows but she comes out and lets you know- I don't think there's anything she could do to get him to sign when he doesn't want to lol!

When I got Sir Ian McKellen's the second time IP, I think he forgot what he was doing for a second and wrote: "Josh, Love Ian McKellen" lol! A bit different from the usual 'best wishes' you normally see!

As you say Stephan, the R matches his 'younger' signature so it's pretty hard to tell!

Wow, you guys have done well, all the IP autographs I have, are brought at autograph shows

But, hopefully I'll get some free ones soon. As I'm running out of money.

True... back in December 2000 I received my first autograph from Sir Ian McKellen. He was sending an inscribed b/w photo from the movie set of LOTR, even addressed the envolpe himself, paid for the postage and used a really nice NZ christmas stamp.

Since then I got him to sign another three 8x10" promo shots and his signature has never changed and probably will never change. He's such a great guy and really charming.

A very good example would also be Daniel Craig. While he was shooting in Prague he signed my photos "Daniel Craig", later once the movie had premiered worldwide he got stuck to sign "DC".

Even if we have Jan's signature it would be hard to tell since Rooney now signs his name "My Ry" which is kind of too short to view any differences. It's simply to easy to scribble four letters the way Rooney would do.

However I've already run a check with the vintage signatures I have of Rooney and the "R" matches his old signature. But as I said before it's hard to tell anything about authenticity from just four letters.

This situation reminds me of Bud Spencer (aka Dr. Carlo Pedersoli). I got him in person last year and his signature looked nothing like it did two years before in Berlin. Just two years in between made his signature became totally different due to his age. If I wouldn't have gotten him in peson I'd have thought the signatures from last year would be some really bad forgeries.
