It's probably being sarcastic as there are three of the same (near enough) design. I think what he's saying is that you only needed one, or something similar?

That sort of crossed my mind but why send me two that're just signed with nothing written on them? If I was writing just to sell them then I could still sell those two.

Nice sucess. I presume the princely sum is in reference to eBay, some people tend to write messages on things so they're not sold ;-)
