She's gotta be used to EVITA stuff by now...Don't Cry for Me Argentina is practically her song! She is defantely the most recognized for the role (in stage terms anyway). Although she doesn't think of the EVITA experience fondly, she is a very professional lady...just one recommendation: don't mention/send anything Sunset Boulevard related at all. Same to Kevin Anderson (her co-star in London)...I sent a Sunset Blvd. pic of him & Patti, and never got anything back! Oops. But Patti did get more than $1 MIL for NOT doing Sunset on Broadway so who knows. And it's recently been discussed that the producers "framed" Lloyd Webber in actuallity with the whole situation, seeing as they knew Glenn Close would draw in a much bigger crowd...which was true. Glenn Close practically had a complete sold-out run in not only LA, but in NY too, something that Betty Buckley and Elaine Paige could not do!
And I practically write EVITA all over the letters I send her, and she usually will send either a headshot, Sweeney Todd playbill or something from Gypsy. But if you plan to be in NY, even if you're not going to see Gypsy, you could always stage door and bring the program with you, and that way if she refuses you'll defantely get it back. But if for whatever reason she didn't sign it, as I already said, she's too professional and evne being a Diva, there's no way she'd trash it. She could possibly just send it back unsigned.
Best of luck!
