SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Envelope
Basically say you're sending some pictures to Katherine Heigl to be signed, and you want to include a SASE. Here's what you do:
You take the envelope that will be your SASE and you put (depending on the size of your envelope) enough postage on it to be returned to you, you also put your address on that envelope since it will be sent to you with your signed pictures in it. So it's a stamped envelope addressed to yourself.
Then you take the SASE fold it to fit inside another envelope and put the pictures you are sending, your letter and the SASE all into another envelope and that is addressed to, in this case, Katherine Heigl.
That way when they want to return your photos they don't have to pay for postage and they have an envelope all ready to go with paid postage. If you were to just send stamps then the stamps could get lost and they're too small and too much to fuss with. This just makes things much easier.
