Hi, I sent my first email request last week and I put the same to show that I am not emailing for the sake of it. The person I emailed, Daniel Truhitte (Sound of Music) has had a reported success through this email address but it was around two years old so I don't think it'll still be valid. I offered to send a SASE, but if I don't hear from him in the next couple of months I will write. If he did send me an autograph in response to my email I may send him a card thanking him, as I know he is likely to get it, unlike lots of A Listers!

I generally put what I would put in a letter and then ask in the end if it wouldn't be too much for them to send me an autograph. I've gotten email replies about a handful of times and I generally like to send a followup email thanking them after I receive an autograph.

Maybe... I don't know if the celebs really DO read their e-mail or not. In a perfect world, they'd all read their e-mail and snail mail, and everyone would get a personalized picture, etc., etc... I just figure, why not give it a try first, ya know? I only had the e-mail addresses for the 5 people, and 3 of them sent me "automatic" replies back, saying how grateful they are that their fans mail them, and they'd be more than happy to send an autograph, but send it to... Which is fine with me, because now I know I have an address that will work for sure, ya know what I mean? :? I think my brain is getting ahead of my fingers here. I hope I'm making sense, at least partly, to someone. I really didn't give the e-mails I sent that I didn't get a response from another thought. That's why I was so surprised yesterday. When I sent David Boreanez's e-mail, it was a little different, because I wrote about how close I live to where he grew up, and so on. So, if I don't get a reply, I'll snail mail. It's not like you're out anything e-mailing. I can write just as much in an e-mail as I can in a regular letter (as I'm sure you all can tell :D )... I'm not saying to go and spam everyone with e-mail requests, so please don't think I am. {nonono} I'm just rambling on now, so I'm gonna go.

Yeah, I put my address in the e-mail, and I also e-mailed Dean Koontz and Charm City Cakes (Duff Goldman). They both e-mailed me back, with addresses, and told me what size envelopes to send. Oh, and Bill Gates did, too. I sometimes think it's easier to try and e-mail first, but don't quote me on that. I'm new at this. Jack's was my first autograph! :D I also e-mailed David Boreanez (from Bones and Buffy), but I haven't heard word one from there. I guess it's a crap shoot. But, I do say, if you have an e-mail address, it's worth a try.

I usually put my address in the message, however, I also put that I would be willing to send an envelope or postage if need be. That way the person doesn't think I'm just hoping for a free autograph.

The only emails I have sent have been via ones that I know to work, and therefore the people at the other end obviously don't mind sending out autographs that way.

I usually put as much as I would in a letter actually. I don't want them to think I'm randomly emailing people for the sake of it, it's just a lot easier doing it this way. So I try and let them see that I have still taken the time to write a decent amount about why I like them etc.

I always include my address which is probably why I've never recieved any email back because there has been no need.

I e-mailed Jack Hanna, and I got an autographed 4x6 card, personalized. I told him in the e-mail about how much I liked him, and liked seeing the animals on Letterman. I didn't really think anything about it, but at the end of the post, I did ask if it was possible if I could have his autograph. And, SURPRISE! I did. So, I guess it's okay to e-mail, if you have an active one. It's become more common than writing letters these days, anyways, so... I guess that's my two cents.

  • I've seen how some people got autographs by e-mailing people (For example, Michael Phelps' autograph by e-mailing Speedo). For most of them, people have said that they didn't get responses but still got the autograph. So what I wanted to know was what do you put in the e-mails? You ask for an autograph and just put your address, or do you add more or less?
