I personally
never send a picture to be signed along with my request (except via venue, of course), I only send a letter and SASE.

Most celebrities already have photos to send to fans and I actually prefer their photos.
Also, sending your own photo doesn't mean you'll get an authentic signature, on the contrary, it tends to be secretarial nowadays due to the celebrities pre-signing photos. :neutral: So for that reason I'd avoid wasting my money on printing a photo, only to have it returned with a secretarial signature.
But to answer your question, Mr. Bale's publicist specifically asks fans to
send a SASE and picture in order to receive an autograph.

Although, he's a hit-and-miss, some people receive authentic replies while other receive secretarial autographs.

Mr. Smith doesn't reply at all TTM - you'll have to meet him in person.
