If you do send one your chances are probably none of getting it back. I've often given stars sharpies IP when they don't have one. I don't wait around to get it back.

Sometimes, I send them the sharpies because I got a lot of autographs smudged because they used THEIR ,,bad sharpies"...

Hi dakotawint! ;)

If you just want to write to celebrities as a hobby and to keep the autographs for yourself, don't send sharpies/markers. As already explained, most, if not all, celebrities have markers to sign with. {up} Also, you're not even guarenteed to get your photo back signed with the marker you sent, so it's not very effective.

Good luck,
zanne

I've never even thought about sending one before! I suppose sending one VV is quite a good idea just in case the celebrity doesn't have one on hand. But I really don't think it's necessary at all :)

I would probably say not, as has already been said, if a celeb is going to answer fanmail then they will have a pen on them. You will most likely lose it too and it would end up being very expensive.

Some people tend to send them with Via Venue, but for the most part- it's not really necessary, as most celebrities will have something on hand if they are signing a lot of fanmail. I'll caveat this by saying, including one is a courtesy that would probably be appreciated. This can also be useful if you want your item signed with a specific thing, though don't plan on getting the pen/marker back. In the end this can be more expensive, but whenever I had worked out an agreement with a certain celebrity to sign something for our organization, i always sent along a specially printed sharpie with our items (just business practice).

It seems more prepaired, but also very expensive. Does it really matter if you send it with a sharpie?
