Yep, she's right! I use one .42 cent on my #10 envelopes and two .42 cent on the 9x12 envelopes. {thumb2}

As long as it\'s a one page letter and a folded 9x12 a 42 cent stamp is correct for a #10 envelope.

For MY SASE I sent a 9x12 folded in half then put into another 9x12.

I put two liberty bell stamps on the SASE and the actual envelope.

Hope I helped!

That size would not be considered a large envelope in the US.

This is a diagram from the USPS site for a small envelope.

Your envelope fits in here.

It would be 0.42 or 0.59 depending on the weight. I would err on the side of caution and put 0.59 on it.

Large envelopes usually cost $1, minimum. It's best if you just add a dollar stamp on it because a photo won't exceed 2 ounces. Sometimes, 2 first-class stamps are alright also, since that's what I put.

Question? :)

So I had a question about SASEs...well not directly about SASEs, per se. I know that the SASE should have at least two or three stamps, but what about the envelope that the SASE is in?

I'm putting a 9x12 SASE and a letter in a #10 envelope (10.4x24.1 cm).

So how many stamps would I put on the #10 envelope?

I've already gone to the post office before, and the lady said a 42 cent stamp was fine for the outside envelope, but that day was kind of a rushing day and she just said anything...unless, of course, she's right! :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
