I would not worry about offending him from saying that,that is what made him who he is today!That was only one of the biggest movies ever made on such a low budget.I am sure is loves to here about those day's anyway.

You can write it both ways:

Dear Mr. Jones,

Dear James Earl Jones,

Best of luck with your request! :D

Thanks a lot. I have written my letter now, and I'll be posting in the next few days.

Me and my family were arguing though whether I should call him Mr. Jones? I think I should because there is no hyphen between "Earl James", so Jones is his surname only.

Does anyone else think it should be Mr. Jones instead of Mr. Earl Jones?

I've seen some recent success, maybe talk about the personality he gave the character, like no one else could. How you loved the work in other films and such. {up}

Good luck!

Thanks for your advice guys. I feel a bit better now, knowing I can talk about the character as well as how much his voice made Darth Vader the awesome villain that he is! :D

Thanks again. {??}

Good Luck!

Hey! Yeah writing to JEJ is really easy. You might also want to check out some of his films, so you can comment on those too. I've written him a couple times and always got a great reply.

I agree with the above posts. :) Mention how much you love Vader, and how you love his voice. I wrote to him too, and I mentioned that I love his voice - there's just something about it. I love the way he talks. I could listen to him talk for hours!
