Mathew Horne signed a Kodak glossy picture for me with a black sharpie and there are no smudges. I could rub my finger on it it and it still won't smudge.

I find you tend to get glare on the glossy ones :)

I think, seens you have tried boots and asda i will try snapfish and kodakgallery and I will let you know how they come out. Seens they are free its worth a try.

Thank you for sharing about Asda photos, Osiris. :) I have printed in store at Boots and found them overly glossy. I have ordered online at Tesco and they came within a few days and were very reasonable. The only downside is that they tend to be [u]very[/u] shiny and so I am worried about sending some of them unless I know the celebrity uses a sharpie or something.

Well of course images you'll find online are going to be in pixels rather than inches. The general rule I follow is anything higher than 1024x768 will be fine for 6x4. In fact, I once tried to use something lower on one of the sites and the uploader rejected it saying it was too low. If you printed 10x8 you'd need a higher resolution.

If you upload a picture that isnt the same format as 6x4 (perhaps its in widescreen) dont worry as they wont squash it to print, you will move/resize the image and chose which bit to print. Have a play around with the uploaders to see what I mean.

Asda do have a strict copyrighting policy... if you take photos into the store. I have had photos printed with their online service multiple times with no problem. I can't comment on the other sites as I havent used them. The Asda photos are pretty good, and aren't shiny (shiny ones annoys me) and the delivery is pretty quick (and reasonably priced). You can also use Boots http://www.bootsphoto.com/. Their photos are shiny (only used them once because of it). You get 40 free prints if you sign up today though (thereafter 6p pp). Asda are also doing 40 free prints at the moment.
