i'm just telling you from experience, that if your computer already runs slow, find a different program.
Large files >> it depends... The final format will most likely be jpg. There you can choose the quality. The scale goes from 0-12 and you don't necessarily need to save the pic as 12. 8 is fine {thumb2} Just as an example...

But marokee is right. The program itself is HUGE. You better own a fast computer otherwise I also see some problems. Especially with your patience ;-)

Why on earth would you save it as a JPEG? PNG is so much better.
This might be the better format but there's hardly any differences visible to the naked eye. My photos always look like professionals when they're printed although I ALWAYS save em as jpgs ;)
Your post sounded like you can only save large formats with/in ps which isn't true. No offense meant {thumb2}

If your looking for high quality program but don't want to spend the big bucks on high-priced software, I suggest using Greeting Card Factory Express made by Nova Development Corporation:

I've used this program to create all my custom Index Cards as seen on my site:

I highly reccomend this program to anyone. It comes pre-loaded with thousands of Vectorized graphics (in other words you can make the graphic any size and it won't become grainy or blurry)

And it's a very easy program to learn. Also comes with a help guide to make it easier. {thumb2} This program also works on even the new computers too.

Hope this helps!!

PhotoFiltre is also a great program for making these, it's similar to The Gimp and it comes free, not like Adobe Photoshop, for which you have tu pay usually. ;-)

They are very easy to make, you can do it with Paint :)

You can also use Paint Shop Pro.

There's another great (and free) program called The Gimp - it's very similar to Photoshop and it's free.

I have heard from other members that Adobe Photoshop is the best option. I have seen some really great custom cards made that way. {up}
