I'm not sure exactly how many IRCs but if you're going to send a SASE then there's no need to send IRCs.. IRCs are just something to exchange for stamps, if you're sending a SASE then there's no need for them because you're going to be providing the stamps for them

:)
Yellow601, you will need at least 2 IRCs. 2-3 IRCs is ideal for anywhere around the world. The more your letter weighs the more IRCs you should include. {up}

Dana - Excellent point! You could not be more right! :)

I just read: "How do I write to my favorite actor?" and would like to add one point. That is to be polite, polite polite. That goes a long way toward being successful as a collector.
I have been collecting since the late 70's / early 80's and the list of my successes is long, and I believe that the polite tone of my letter is the reason for my success and I can not over state the importance of being polite.

Hi winymse,

Welcome to the board! :D
I'll do my best to answer your questions.

1. No, it's not rude to print off and send your own photos of the celebrity. It's actually probably the best thing to do, as not always does the celebrity have photos on hand that they can sign for you. Especially when sending via venue (to a movie set, concert venue) printing off your own photos is the best bet. {up}

2. No it's not rude to request two separate photos signed. Just state in your letter that, like in your case your cousin is a fan also and it would mean a lot to you to have a 2nd photo signed for him/her. You can send together, sometimes it's better to send individually though.

3. You can, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you hadn't received your request back in many months or over a year from the first address you sent to. It's not really rude to send more than one request, but you must remember that there are MANY others that are probably trying that exact same celebrity so be diligent as to how many requests you sent out so you don't ruin it for others who are just as big fans as yourself.

4. For your envelope TO the UK you use the required about to send internationally and in the same package you will include your IRCs for your SAE (which is the return envelope).

I hope that answers all your questions. Don't hesitate to ask more. {up} :)

Hello.......I am new to collecting autographs and I must already say I love this site, I find it very helpful already!! {thumb2}

I do have a couple questions and I am sorry if they have already been asked and answered and I missed them.

1) Do you think its rude to send our own photos that we print offline?

2) Is it rude to ask for two seperate autographs? What I mean is I want to send requests to the different cast members of Twilight, but I would like a picture for myself and my cousin. Can I send together, or should we send them seperate?

3) Can you send requests to multiple addresses for the same actor? Or is it rude if you send one request and get it back and you find a new picture you would like signed, to send for a request again? (not sure if they notice from the same person)

4) When sending something from the US to the UK, I can use US postage correct? And then include the IRC's in the package for the send back?

I am sure I will have more questions! Just can't think of them right now. Thanks for reviewing this! {love}

US stamps won't work for getting something from Germany. You have to use German stamps or enclose an IRC(s) (= International Reply Coupon) to you letter.

Iam really new to this if i live in Phiippines. Do i need a SASE and a IRC??? and what is a SASE and IRC??? Pls. reply!!! I really want to collect autographs... Iam begging pls reply!!!
An SASE is a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.
An IRC is an International Reply Coupon

If you live in the Phillippines and you want to send a request to someone outside the Phillipines you send an IRC because they don't sell US stamps, etc there.

Hope this helps :)

Happy collecting
