I have gotten a response from Katy Perry and sent an SASE for her, but I've seen ones where an envelope wasn't included. You should always send an SASE though, as it's much more polite.

Regardless of weather or not she uses her own envelope, you should always include a SASE when writing to someone. It's just polite. {thumb2}
If you sent without a SASE, it's still possible you may get something back though. However, I would never recommend sending without a SASE. Especially if you plan on trying her VV. ALWAYS send an envelope when writing VV.
