Hiya,

An IRC(which what you will probably need) looks like this:
http://www.upu.int/irc/irc-2006_front.jpg
It will come in use for you when you send to abroad, like the UK, USA, etc...and it is used for exchanging stamps. The receiver uses these to exchange for stamps at the post office. I'd try sending two from Portugal to the USA. (I live in the UK and send two for when I send to America).
{star}A SASE is a self addressed stamped envelope. If you are sending to the USA, for example, you will need american stamps. These are usually used for when you are sending local(like your home country).

When you write a fan letter, you basically say what you like about the film, what your favourite parts were and why you like their work. You can say your name and age and you like watching movies and what movie of theirs you enjoyed. You coulod also tell them 'good luck for the future and best wishes for 2009' at the end of your letter. Also, I think in your lettr, near beginning or end of letter, askf ro an autograph in a polite manner, like
'Please may I have your autograph? I would love it and treasure it forever.'
Any more questions, feel free to ask any of us lot!! Good luck with your first request And welcome to fanmail! {thumb2}
