I don't think Brad Pitt replies to fan mail at all. But genreally, sending a picture to the celebrity can raise your chances of getting somethin back, in case they don't have thea own photo to send. However, I think that in case of Brad Pitt it really doesn't matter, as he most likely won't reply at all :( .

Hey everyone. I'm going to be sending a letter to Brad Pitt soon. I was wondering if I should send a picture? Or do you think that Brad would send his own?
