Help - Requesting a Playbill - "Our Town"

by kenzieev » Fri Nov 15, 2024 5:53 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to try requesting a cast signed playbill from "Our Town" and was wondering if anyone has had any success with it yet?
I have the address for the cast VV - I am assuming id use the same address but wanting to confirm.

I also have some other questions as to how I go about this as I've never done it before.

- What size envelopes do you use?
- How do you find out if the stage manager is your best bet to send to or someone else? (I want to make sure I am addressing the right person and I've seen posts saying it depends on the theater - so how do you find this or is it luck?)
- Does anyone know the rough weight of a playbill or how to find this information as I will be providing a SASE so accurate postage is why I am wondering.
- Roughly how to word the LOR (is there certain terminology that is important or is it similar to a personal request?
- I also saw someone post about some theaters wanting donations in order to send a signed bill - so how to I find out which those are, and how much a donation should be?

I would love to go to this show in person but I live to far away to make the trip so I thought this would be a neat substitution.

I have never sent a playbill or asked for one before so this is totally new to me. I have sent individual fan mail so I understand the basics, I just have never not sent what I wanted signed.

Any advice would be so appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.
