I recently sent a few requests across the pond to the US from the UK, in a A5 envelope, and they cost £1.36 each - so I'd go for 4x first class stamps.

Yes, sorry, in April 2009, the prices of 1st AND 2nd class stamps both increased by 3p. Inflations a b*tch, isn’t it? {down} Hey UK! Use Forever stamps! {up}
Lol. We do. First class and second class work exactly the same as Forever Stamps. If the price goes up, old stamps will be worth the new price. And we had them decades before you guys ;)

I just realized all you had were 1st class stamps (39p each), so the only thing you could do, as I said, is use four of them (£1.35), unfortunately wasting 21p worth of stamps in the process.

First class stamps are fine. How many you use depends on how heavy your letter will be. Use the table on this link to work it out :) http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/cont ... aId=400347

Each 1st class stamp is worth 39p. Large 1st Class stamps (they say "Large" on them) are worth more.

Under 20g will be 90p
20-40g £1.35
40-60g £1.82

So if your letter weighs 42g you'd need £1.82 worth of stamps, which is 5 1st class stamps (£1.95 worth of stamps).

I live in America and I have several sheets of first class British stamps. My return envelopes are 9in x 11in (about 23cm x 28cm). The only thing that would be in the return envelope in the signed photo.

Can I use the first class British stamps to get that back to me? How many should I use?

Thanks for any help. {up}
